Country Style Vintage Rocker

My client grew up with this black and gold country style vintage rocker and footstool. She remembers sitting in her grandmother’s lap while she read to her. The frame of the chair was still perfect, but the cushions were worn out, and the bright red fabric was dated and thread-bare.

I custom-cut the seat and back cushions, provided new foam, and used a multi/color Maxwell fabric that blends with the farmhouse style. I fitted a pleated skirt around the posts of the arms and back of the chair. Then I created a matching cover for the footstool.

You’ll notice the stripes of the fabric are all carefully aligned throughout the chair and stool. This is by design to make it more pleasing to the eye. Our furnishings shouldn’t just feel comfortable, they should look beautiful too.

My client was very pleased with the results and is enjoying sitting in the inviting space we created for her to read by the window.
