Six-cushion sofa
This perfect sporty plaid six-cushion sofa with attached back cushions was relocated from a Tennessee mountain home. It needed a new fabric and color to blend in with its new location at the Jersey shore.
When the homeowner entered the room for the reveal, she exclaimed, “Oh my! It gives my chills!” (Now that’s a response I don’t hear that every day!) She was thrilled with the new appearance and fit.
I constructed the new slipcovers with Sunbrella Heritage Moss made with 50% recycled acrylic fabric. I like to use sustainable resources when I can.
The style of the back cushion is called “butterfly box.” All items are corded and have zipper closures. It also has a tailored skirt.
The original cushions were attached to the back frame. I removed the cushions so I could preserve the fabric cover by tacking it to the back and flattening it. If she wants to go back to having a plaid sofa, she can! It’s one of the efficient and economical features when opting to slipcover furniture rather than re-upholster.
